To comply with the latest regulations of the Office of the Communications Authority, Hong Kong telecommunications companies LuckySIM and Lucky2 require certain products to undergo Real Name Registration (RNR), but this does not apply to all phone cards.

LuckySIM, including those with Hong Kong phone numbers, and Lucky2, which uses data services in Hong Kong or Taiwan, whether eSIM or physical SIM cards, all require real-name registration before service activation. However, currently, no registration is required when using Lucky2 in other countries or regions. For example, the Lucky2 Japan Travel Card requires no registration before or after arrival; simply insert the card and activate roaming settings to use it locally!

It is worth noting that Lucky SIM has two brands, each with its own dedicated real-name registration link. Please ensure that you use the correct link below to complete the registration successfully.

Lucky SIM Real-Name Registration process

First, enter your ICCID or Hong Kong phone number on the LuckySIM website. Then, the real-name registration process includes three main steps: entering personal information, taking and uploading identity documents, and submitting the application.

After a customer completes the registration submission, the service is not officially activated. LuckySIM will conduct a second manual review, and the service will only be activated after passing this second review. Under normal circumstances, the verification process will be completed within a few hours to two business days. Once the service is activated, you will receive an SMS notification confirming the activation of the relevant plan.

Use your Hong Kong identity card or other valid identity document.
Real-name registration can now be completed through "iAM Smart".

【Step 3】 Fill in your personal information:

Follow the instructions to fill in the required personal information.

After confirming that the information is correct, submit the registration application.

【Step 5】 Wait for verification:

After submission, the system will verify your registration information, which may take several hours to a maximum of 2 business days.
Once verification is complete, you will receive an SMS notification.

The following Android device demonstration shows how to complete real-name registration using a LuckySIM Hong Kong SIM card. The steps are largely the same as on an iPhone, but the specific process is for reference only; please refer to the latest official announcements from LuckySIM for the most accurate and up-to-date information .

【Step 1】Whether it's an Android, iPhone, or other brand, you can open your phone, go to About SIM card settings, and enable SIM card.

【Step 2】You will receive an SMS instantly with the phone expiration date, a link to check your account details, and the option to purchase a LuckySIM SIM card. Your Hong Kong phone number will also be displayed.

If the expiration date shown in the SMS is not in accordance with the original purchase plan, please complete the real-name registration as soon as possible, and the expiration date will be changed.

【Step 3】After inserting the physical SIM card into your phone or successfully installing the eSIM, connect to Wi-Fi and use your phone's browser to go to the LuckySIM prepaid card real-name registration link: https://rnr.luckysim.com.hk

Enter the ICCID number (eSIM customers can view it in their email, physical card customers can view it in their large card certificate/small SIM card), and select SMS verification code registration.

【Step 4】Is this your first time registering a prepaid card with our company? Then click "Please Select".

【Step 5】After clicking "Please Select", select "First time registering" or "Previously registered other prepaid cards".

【Step 6】"Is this your first time registering a prepaid card with our company?" Click "Please select" and then select "First time registering" or "Previously registered other prepaid cards".

The next line, "Are you 16 years of age or older?", requires an answer.

【Step 7】Do you hold a "Hong Kong Identity Card"? Since real-name registration applies to both Hong Kong residents and non-Hong Kong residents, you need to click on one of the three options:

Register using a "Hong Kong Identity Card"
Since I do not hold a "Hong Kong Identity Card", I will use my "passport" for registration.
They do not hold a "Hong Kong Identity Card". They will use their "Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao" for registration.

【Step 8】For submitting documents, you can use the Hong Kong government's "SmartPass" or take a photo of the document and upload it with your mobile phone.

【Step 9】Use the government's "Smart Convenience" service, which can theoretically speed up the approval process for real-name registration.

【Step 10】Notes on shooting images: uploaded photos must be clear and visible, and only original ID cards are accepted. Photocopies or screenshots are not accepted.

【Step 11】Check the identity document information, including the original photo, document number, and the document holder's English name.

【Step 12】If your identity document is incorrect, you can click "Edit Information" at the bottom.

【Step 13】The system will automatically display: "If you need to modify your information, our customer service staff will need to verify it offline. Real-name registration will be completed in about two business days, and the prepaid card can then start the process."

【Step 14】Re-obtain and upload your identity document. The service is not officially activated after the customer submits the registration.

Enter the last 8 digits of your ICCID card number (eSIM customers can view it in their email address, physical card customers can view it in their large card certificate/small SIM card certificate).
